Any child that lives in Florida and turned four years of age by September 1, 2008, is eligible for the summer VPK as long as they did not previously participate in the school-year VPK program.* The summer program consists of 300 instructional hours and is offered through both private child care and public school providers in Miami-Dade county. Daily schedules can range anywhere from 5 to 7 hours.

*Certain documented hardship and good cause exceptions may apply.

Summer 2009 VPK Registration begins Monday, March 30th.

300 Instructional Hours / Full Day Program runs June 10 – July 22 / 7:45 am – 5:30 pm.

• Child must be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2008 and
• have not previously participated in the VPK program and
• will be entering kindergarten in the upcoming 2009-2010 school year
