Any child that lives in Florida and turned four years of age by September 1, 2009, is eligible for the summer VPK as long as they did not previously participate in the school-year VPK program.* The summer program consists of 300 instructional hours and is offered through both private child care and public school providers in Miami-Dade county. Daily schedules can range anywhere from 5 to 7 hours.
*Certain documented hardship and good cause exceptions may apply.
